Council you may want to enter into discussion here?

April 18, 2011, The Hood River County Commissioners had discussion of a Fun tax.
This discussion went from a fun tax on ski lift tickets, to a county wide food and beverage industry tax.
I heard of this in an article ran by the Hood River News, followed by the video the Hood River News, uploaded to youtube.
I have posted this video on this blog.
This entire mess stinks to me and I feel that Cascade Locks should be left out of this.
I feel that any public body having the right to tax our food and beverage industry, could only be brought forth by my City Council, to support services within the boundaries of our City and only on approval by a vote of the people.
Does this concern you as much as it does me?

Well, no. Because it would not be a tax within our city limits. They cannot enforce a tax within our city limits. They can only enforce a tax within non-incorporated county. Big non-issue.

I take it you are a renter?
I also take it, that you have never read the Hood River County, comprehensive annual financial reports?
As if you did you would already know, that Hood River County can and does tax us now.
And the property owners get the bill.
Only to watch our tax dollars go to support services, in Hood River.
And what we did have are being slowly stripped away.

Nope, not a renter, nor an over user of commas, but you need to comprehend the vast difference between a property tax and a sales tax.
