The nature of the encroachment upon American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer; it eats faster and faster every hour. The revenue creates pensioners, and the pensioners urge for more revenue. The seekers more numerous and more corrupt, and every day increases the circles of their dependents and vanity, luxury, foppery, selfishness, meanness, and downright venality swallow up the whole of society.

April 23, 2012, City of Cascade Locks Council Meeting
Lance, Brad, Gail and Jeff are perfect examples of why you need to be careful when you lie, cheat, steal and suborn to get yourself in charge. These self-deluded scoundrels will brag about the great job they are doing, while the walls of the council chambers are lined with example after example of their impotence.
The 5-Alarmists AKA champagne taste committee seems to have agreed on what they want, now how are they going to force us to pay for it?
The volunteers want a Chief, the citizens want a paramedic. Nobody knows whether we can pay for either or both.
Lance tries to smack Tom down, but just sounds arrogant and childish. Gale tries to sound important but comes off as exasperated. Someone forgot to give Randy his lines this time and Brad is bragging about his kid, maybe hoping we can hire him down the line. Jeff is trying so hard to not say hire Jeff. What next?
Stay tuned for the next exciting episode of As The Town Burns.
