I have an interesting question. Tina Tarani rents her residence form the Port, which pays no taxes whatsoever into the fire/ems fund. Why does she not realize that she therefore pays no taxes into the fund? I would tread carefully about screaming at other people who pay property taxes.

Why would anyone believe CL Fire voted not to respond to calls?
1. The Deputy State Fire Marshal said they did. 2. The 911 Coordinator said they did 3. The Hood River Valley Fire Chiefs said they did. 4. The president of the volunteer association said they did. 5. No volunteer has denied that they did. Jesse said "I think our record speaks for itself", which speaks volumes. 6. Megan Webb had the opportunity to dispute what she was quoted as saying, silence.

Kate, I just got home and read through all of the blogs. I was sure that was you! When I came to your blog I laughed so hard I cried! There are a lot of facts and figures coming out on this blog. I wish they were printed in the HRN. Maybe the author would submit them? Not everyone reads the blog and yet they should know these figures.

All I have done is posted the video. There are no statements from me on this blog page until now. If I had to choose between fleas and a stench I could not wash off I choose fleas.
I will though ask where the missing $345,075.00 is from the 2008 budget year, EMS Fund. That was the fall of this department!!! I would also like to point out that when the EMS Department spends $289,222.00 over what it makes in revenue over a 4 year period that some other service had to pay for this. Add in the 2011 budget year and that total is going to exceed in excess of $339,000.00. That is a lot of money something else has to account for along with the bills this department could not pay!!!
So maybe, just maybe, this began the domino effect that has been occurring? Common sense tells me that some other service has been paying for this and it is going to affect that service/s.
Let’s just average out that 4 years out and that comes to $72,305.50 a year, that some other department/s have had to cut their services for in order to cover this loss. This average could go up or down, once we factor in the 2011 budget year loss.
Like I said do the math and you might understand what happened in budget? The domino effect is what happened.

He billed out this year for a call that occurred in 2009!!
Brad is calling attention to himself. He is attacking the Mayor and Council at every opportunity. He is trying to overturn the last election, he needs to be Mayor. Brad has been directly involved in creating the problems the city has been going through. Brad paid $18,000 to the previous CA 4 days before his term as Mayor expired. The CA was not entitled to this money, but Brad wanted to create as much upheaval as possible for the new Mayor and Council. Brad also created massive debt for this new Mayor and Council to deal with. He paid the Fire Chief over $140,000 in wages and benefits for 12 months of work. He also allowed this Fire Chief to overspend time and time again, causing a $60,000.00 fire budget deficit.He left this for the new Mayor and Council to take care of as well. Brad also borrowed $450,000 from the electrical department for the Fire Hall and never paid one cent back in over two years. Brad also backed the city building a new radio system for Hood River County, $40,000 gone so far, more losses expected soon. Now Brad wants to blame this Mayor and council for the financial crisis at the Fire Hall. In fact, Brad constantly complained that the Mayor and Council were "manufacturing a budget crisis". A report from the city's CPA that shows the destruction of the city's finances during Brad's tenure as Mayor lad to him abandoning this baseless attack. Brad shows no respect for the office he so desperately wants back. The candidate that promised respectful council meetings now yells insults and gross exaggerations from the back of the room. He also encourages others to be as disruptive as possible. Brad has tried to keep from getting his hands too dirty with this recall, trying to make it appear spontaneous. But as usual he hasn't been able to control his mouth, repeatedly dropping little threats, hints and insinuations while berating the Mayor and Council for not cleaning up the mess he created quickly enough. It's hard to imagine how Brad would manage the situations he has created for others. Thinking of him being in the new Mayor's position truly scares me. Can anyone think of one accomplishment from Brad's tenure as Mayor.

If I had to choose between fleas and a stench I could not wash off I choose fleas.
I will though ask where the missing $345,075.00 is from the 2008 budget year, EMS Fund.
That was the fall of this department!!!
I would also like to point out that when the EMS Department spends $289,222.00 over what it makes in revenue over a 4 year period that some other service had to pay for this.
Add in the 2011 budget year and that total is going to exceed in excess of $339,000.00.
That is a lot of money something else has to account for along with the bills this department could not pay!!!
So maybe, just maybe, this began the domino effect that has been occurring?
Common sense tells me that some other service has been paying for this and it is going to affect that service/s.
Let’s just average out that 4 years out and that comes to $72,305.50 a year, that some other department/s have had to cut their services for in order to cover this loss.
This average could go up or down, once we factor in the 2011 budget year loss.
Like I said do the math and you might understand what happened in budget?

Could someone please inform Brad Lorang (heartless bastard only concerned with revenue and not giving his condolences to a family in mourning)that the fire department has at least six more months to bill out for that call and they will still be faster than golden boy/rock star Pricher! He billed out this year for a call that occurred in 2009!!

You know, I feel better now too, must be a slow day at the souvenir shop.
Brad is calling attention to himself.
He is attacking the Mayor and Council at every opportunity.
He is trying to overturn the last election, he needs to be Mayor.
Brad has been directly involved in creating the problems the city has been going through.
Brad paid $18,000 to the previous CA 4 days before his term as Mayor expired. The CA was not entitled to this money, but Brad wanted to create as much upheaval as possible for the new Mayor and Council.
Brad also created massive debt for this new Mayor and Council to deal with. He paid the Fire Chief over $140,000 in wages and benefits for 12 months of work. He also allowed this Fire Chief to overspend time and time again, causing a $60,000.00 fire budget deficit.He left this for the new Mayor and Council to take care of as well.
Brad also borrowed $450,000 from the electrical department for the Fire Hall and never paid one cent back in over two years.
Brad also backed the city building a new radio system for Hood River County, $40,000 gone so far, more losses expected soon.
Now Brad wants to blame this Mayor and council for the financial crisis at the Fire Hall. In fact, Brad constantly complained that the Mayor and Council were "manufacturing a budget crisis". A report from the city's CPA that shows the destruction of the city's finances during Brad's tenure as Mayor lad to him abandoning this baseless attack.
Brad shows no respect for the office he so desperately wants back. The candidate that promised respectful council meetings now yells insults and gross exaggerations from the back of the room. He also encourages others to be as disruptive as possible.
Brad has tried to keep from getting his hands too dirty with this recall, trying to make it appear spontaneous. But as usual he hasn't been able to control his mouth, repeatedly dropping little threats, hints and insinuations while berating the Mayor and Council for not cleaning up the mess he created quickly enough.
It's hard to imagine how Brad would manage the situations he has created for others. Thinking of him being in the new Mayor's position truly scares me.
Can anyone think of one accomplishment from Brad's tenure as Mayor.

All that Brad accomplished was to give away the city's money (to Bernard and Morgan) and let Jeff spend the Fire Department into oblivion. Oh but he did get a lot of advertising for his trinket shop. He even managed to sell hundreds of dollars of trophies to the sailors and then bad mouth them every opportunity he got. I wonder what Brad would do first if he were mayor again? Hire back the Ordinance enforcer to write tickets for tall grass at a cost to the city of $1,000. per citation. He would probably hire the golden boy back and our utility rates would increase so much that we would lose more of our population to neighboring towns. Forget about the school ever having enough kids to reopen. Oh yeah and then there's Bernard to bring back in, you know he's just waiting up there on the hill for the chance to spring into action! Let's see now this council has had six months to try and correct years of mismanagement.

Oil changes done, check, only 3 engines replaced, check, manufacturers defects on 2 of them, check, oil changes actually done at Delcarpine right there on the receipts, and Oil Can Henry's too, check.
