Sorry this took so long but I have been swamped.
In just looking over the blog just now someone asked why I do not use a computer at City Hall and upload it from there?
Well there is only one good reason I can think of.
That would be a bad policy for this City to begin. Do you realize how easy it would be for a person to take any file on a removable media and place a virus in it and wreak havoc on this City?
So this answer is security.
I would not even propose that to the City.
As a matter of fact I would hope they have an employee policy that addresses this issue.
A second non political issue asked why the City does not provide the service.
My answer to that is I do not know.
The USB Video capture device cost $99.99.
The software I use to take out the breaks costs $49.95.
The software I use to convert and compress it to make the files smaller cost $39.90
A computer with a large hard drive, a USB port and a City Cable Connection is all you need.
The only employee time would be to start the program and edit which takes me no longer than 15 minutes to take out the breaks and walk away. Let it run for no more than an half hour for a 5 hour meeting on my computer.
Then less than a minute to start the conversion and compression software and let it run up to almost 2 hours for a 5 hour video on my computer.
Register a youtube video channel free in the name of the City.
Upload the video free.
Now on City broadband this is going to take a lot more time than on my service but it will work.
I do not know but it might bog down their network so that specific computer may want its own internet connection with a bigger upload speed.
But they may have a commercial account which would handle it, so it should be done through the network administrator.
This is what takes time though as the files are very big.
Once uploaded you can put the link youtube gives you on the City web site or wait until it goes through the copyright check to frame it to the city web site.
You are done.
Total employee time would be less than 30 minutes the first time with instructions on the software.
Now if the City wanted to edit it to each agenda item and make it to where when people watch it they could do like many cities do. Anchorage, Alaska for example where all a person has to do is click on each agenda item and it takes you right there.
But that would add to the employee time spent and as editing would take longer as well as web site programming but it can as is done.
And you do not need to go through youtube.

This whole recall thing is very very sick.
And it's being orchestrated by some very very sick people.
The disgruntled accidental mayor, who engineered the greatest decline in the history of Cascade Locks, wants to overturn the election he lost.
The disgraced former preacher, who couldn't keep his pants zipped, wants us to listen to his idea of right.
Then there is the always available Robb, Jeff&Jeff,Lance,Bernard, a wacko couple from up on the hill, a few who don't have any idea what it is there saying, but are certain whatever it is it's important. Combined, they haven't got the intelligence, morals, or self control of two-peckered goat.
When this crap fails, as it surely will, remember what was done and who it was that did it. These guys can NEVER be allowed anywhere near anything that resembles authority. They just can't handle it.

Cody, Wow! I just went to the Anchorage link. Wouldn't that be great if the city could rebroadcast meetings. Talk about transparency. I want to encourage people to write to the Hood River News and voice your outrage of lies being printed by their Editor Kirby Neumann-Rea. You can send them to the President of Eagle Newspaper Inc. Thomas J. Lanctot. Please try to keep it short and to the facts as I have been told that he won't read long drug out letters. The word is that the mayor of Hood River is also coming down on Kirby about his reporting misinformation about the Hood River Police Chief. If we all stay on top of this we can make a difference. The President of the paper should know what affect his Editor's false statements are making on our city. Keep spreading the word that we support our mayor and council and are appreciative of their hard work and transparent actions.

I just received a phone message from Kirby Neumann-Rea suggesting that had he not been on vacation, he would not have published my letter (July 20th edition) as I wrote it. He stated he felt I was, “Casting aspersions upon Joe as publisher and would suggest that you re-phrase it.”
As I did not use his name, I find I disagree.
What I showed you is already on the blog.
The only difference is you saw the actual documents.
So this is not new.
My problem with Lance is he seems to be intentionally disrupting this council and I feel he is a puppet for the past that got us into this mess, he makes mistakes in what he says is or isn’t all the time and he cannot separate his wants for the best interest of the City so I will leave it at that.
I do however respect Lance for his personal sacrifice, that he endured in getting his education and for the career path he chose and setting politics aside he seems to be an alright guy.
But as I am hearing he is on that recall list himself, so if this is true my political beliefs and doubts I have about him, I may not be alone on. Only time will tell though, as it is just rumor now.

I have been watching this council for a few years as I grew up there.
I remember what I thought when I first saw it and now that it has grown to this I can only dream of the day our City grows to this level and functions as smoothly as this web site, as it is perfection in my books of an open government.
And this goes on live as well with all the legislation right there to go along with.
That pretty much deals with the reading by title only that has bitten us more than a few times.

2006 Paramedic Jeff Pricher, who earns $30,000 a year, standing at the council podium pleading for the title of Fire Chief, "I'm already doing all of the work that goes with the title.....it's not going to cost you any more money".
2006 Jeff Pricher and his then wife knock on my door, here's a flyer, look it over. The flyer says Jeff Pricher is the lowest paid Fire Chief in Hood River County and this isn't fair.....Support a new Fire District!!

He said it wouldn't cost us any more.....What's even worse is the fact that the Fire Hall is now $60,000 over budget, even though Bernard, Lance and Brad have been pumping every dollar they can get their slimy hands on straight to buddy.
January 2011 Jeff Pricher publishes to fire district and all who would listen a 12 page passive, aggressive, excuse filled manifesto, to direction from his supervisor. (A copy is available through a public records request).

Re: your letter to the Editor in the HR News. Yes, I do feel safer, lots safer now, granted Hood River may be farther away, but I know they will come. They didn't threaten my household to maybe not respond so quickly because I didn't support them. they are competent, not selected just because they agreed with Jeffy Rock-Star. They may not live in town, but then, neither do half of our volunteers. Hood River shows up and with a non-leaky ambulance and they're able to transport me on the spot, not wait to transfer me.
And Mr. Brostoff, stop speaking for the entire community, because you don't. You really just speak only for yourself and if you are attempting to represent the signers of that infamous letter, you then just speak for a few, approx. 1/10th of the community signed that letter. You don't speak for me.
Has anybody heard about the command vehicle just being returned from the repair shop in Hood River? Rumor has it that it needed its 4th rebuilt engine.
As far as I know it's about 50% of the community that already signed the letter... that's scary....
So Carl, where do you live, because Cascade Locks has over 1,000 citizens and approx. 695 voters.

Monday July 11th, 2011. The day Prichers resignation takes effect, Fire Fighters meet for "training" and unanimously decide, choose, determine, opt, or vote to not respond to calls.
This is a violation of Oregon public meetings laws.
A firefighter died and went to hell where he finds a wall of clocks.
After seeing all these clocks on a wall, with his friends names under them, he asked the devil, what the clocks mean?
"That's easy, each time one of your friends mess up on earth, their clock speeds up one hour." says the devil.
"I don't see the Chiefs clock anywhere?" the fireman says.
The devil replied, "Oh him, we have his down in the basement, we're using it for a fan."
I guess I if call anyone moron and have no facts - I'm just looking in a mirror.
So if the council is at fault for Jeff&Jeff&Jeff, Brad, Lance and Bernard's little manufactured walkout, who's gonna be at fault when these firefighters get de-certified?

Just found out that Jeff P. is related to Maui Meyer (HR County Commissioner), no wonder he was able to pass that grant through!
If your talking about the 911 radio grant, it got through because HR County's attorneys wrote the contract that we signed. They refused to sign the contract the Cascade Locks city attorney prepared.
Why? I can give you over 38,000 (and counting) reasons why. One of them is that Sheriff Wampler had previous experience with the "thanks, we've had enough of you" ex-reserve deputy turned rock star fireman. He knew his ability and integrity.
Can't blame HRC though, Sheriff Wampler and Under Sheriff Brown were very candid. They warned the council "We are not going to accept any responsibility, you can do this if you want but your completely on your own. Brad, Lance, Jeff and Bernard were completely comfortable risking your money though.
The next time you see Brad or Lance ask them where we are gonna get another $40,000. That's on top of the $60,000 they helped Jeff miss-appropriate from the Fire Hall Fund.
These guys really do need to be back in charge. I can hardly wait.

They sure are spineless. I still want to know how many volunteers we have, their training levels and how many live within our city limits (i.e. response time). While I am filling out my wish list, add on the general hours each one is available, and how often they have responded in the last well, let's say two years.
Sheriff Wampler always did say that he did not support grants as they are not free. There are always strings attached and costs involved. Of course I did read that in the Hood River News so it could be a pack of lies! I hear that Lance's name will also be on the recall list. It's about time!

If not for his persistence in questioning George Fischer (aka Gary's Bum Boy aka GBB) we would not have known that the Idiot in Charge hadnt bothered to check the facts before calling an Emergency meeting, or that the volunteers were fearing for their safety if they were called to a situation where they had NO QUALIFIED PERSON IN CHARGE.
I laugh when I read your comments about Robb Brostoff. One mistake and forever called a name huh? Sure he had a problem, and it is common knowledge that he manned up and did something about it. This blog is the BEST thing that has happened for the recall. I have seen printouts of every nasty demeaning comment your group has made on here. The number of signatures they needed was reached within 24 hours, and they are still collecting.
